Gringos

Hola!  Holy guacamole Gringos is good! Not just oh yeah, that was good...the kind of good that you makes you take a picture of you food good. Facebook, Twitter, and my Mama all knew what I ordered!  We were sad to see the Oyster Bar go, but watch out Greenville's Mexican scene. There is a new place in town and its the owners brought their A game!

Compliments

1. Local artist, Kay Larch gave the downstairs a funky edge.

2. Love all the Gringo details!

3. The owners flew in California artist, Rob Graves for the artwork upstairs and on the rooftop deck. Rob brings a taste of the west coast to Greenville's restaurant decor. You have to come and see it to truly experience it.

4. Need a new place to put into your happy hour rotation? Gringos happy hour is Monday through Friday from 4:00-7:00pm. $3 house margaritas, $2.50 drafts, $3 well drinks, and $2 domestic bottles. Pair that with some complimentary chips and salsa I think I just found our weekly meeting spot!
They have fantastic Margaritas. Mine went down so quick I couldn't even get a picture. Beer selection was muy bien.  They had your traditional mexican staples but then mixed it up with some beers from local breweries. Good call. We love a good signature cocktails list! Looking forward to trying the Gusto Fresco the next time we visit!

5. Turtle (from Entourage) would be very proud of their tequila selection. Restaurant go-ers can also check out their different brands of tequila via this mock jail set up. It is all in the details.

6. Now on to the best part...the food.
I was born in Texas so Mexican food is in my blood. Chips and salsa, yes please. Both were fantastic and I heard wonderful things about the queso dip. The menu had some traditional Mexican favorites with a fun twist. For example, one of my tacos was a cheeseburger taco (pictured on right) it had ground beef, queso cheese, bacon, tomatoes, and YES French fries! If you never had French fries in your taco you need to put it on your to do list ASAP?

We ordered rice and beans on the side! Perfect compliment to our meal.

7. Lots of different dinning options for your Gringo experience.

Downstairs is a spacious and a great option for inside dinning.

The outside deck is great for having a cold margarita after a long day.

Great view of downtown from the deck.

8. Not ready to go home after dinner?  The outside patio stays open for drinks till midnight, but the inside bars stay open till 2:00 am! Did some say Tequila shots!
